01.28.10 Ocala, Florida()
Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottkamp toured E-ONE on Wednesday while visiting Ocala to speak at a luncheon. Kottkamp was very impressed by the 24-month turn-around story of E-ONE after touring the facilities.
“I wanted to visit the premier fire apparatus manufacturer in Florida and see for myself their impressive transformation,” Kottkamp said. “I have visited other top manufacturers for the defense department and NASA, the E-ONE manufacturing floor rivals those companies. This is an organization the state can be proud of.”
E-ONE was eager to show off their hard work and welcomed Kottkamp to their facilities.
“We were honored to have Lt. Gov. Kottkamp visit E-ONE,” said Peter Guile, E-ONE CEO. “The employees and management team are proud of the transformation of our manufacturing processes, the quality of the vehicles we build and we are honored to serve fire departments throughout North America and around the world. It was, therefore, rewarding to be recognized for the hard work of our E-ONE team.”
Before his tour, Kottkamp met with a small group to briefly discuss the initiatives of the newly formed Florida Emergency Services Coalition (FESC).The group consisted of Peter Guile, E-ONE CEO, Mike Tomasetti, E-ONE Vice President of Operations, Mike Amsden, a Marion County Commissioner, Fire Chief Stuart McElhaney, Marion County Fire Rescue, and Pete Tesch, President/CEO Ocala/Marion County Economic Development Corporation.
"Through our association with FESC, the theme of our discussion with Lt. Gov. Kottkamp included increasing the awareness of the demands, services and funding requirements for Florida fire departments along with the need to gain an appreciation for the magnitude of Florida fire equipment manufacturers and our positive impact on the state’s economy."
After his tour, the Lt. Gov. said he was excited by what he saw and feels E-ONE “is a showcase for the state of Florida.”
As a leading manufacturer of first responder vehicles, E-ONE engineers, manufactures and markets mission-critical vehicles including custom and commercial pumpers tankers, Water Master vacuum tankers, aerial ladders and platforms, command and communication apparatus, quick attack units, industrial trucks, and aircraft rescue firefighting vehicles.
