E-ONE to Unveil First Steel Ladder at FDIC

E-ONE will debut the company’s first steel ladder, the HPS 105, during the 2015 Fire Department Instructor’s Conference in Indianapolis, Ind., next month.

“We’ve been the industry’s aluminum aerial leader for more than thirty-five years because of our 2.5 to 1 structural safety factor, integral torque box chassis and crisscross, under-slung jack system,” said Jay Johnson, vice president of sales and product management for E-ONE. “Now we’re able to maintain the features indicative of an E-ONE aerial and simply offer our tried and true design with a steel ladder as well as aluminum for those departments who simply prefer steel.”

While everything below the turntable remains the same, everything above the turntable is impressively engineered to offer an industry-leading approach to steel ladder design.

“From the low-weight, high-strength DOMEX® steel and innovative greaseless roller system to E-ONE’s new Advanced Aerial Control System (AACS), the new HPS 105 offers the superior performance of an E-ONE aerial system with an innovative new steel ladder,” said Jim Salmi, director of aerial development. “Keeping the E-ONE aerial DNA was a fun challenge on this new steel ladder and I’m thrilled with our team’s results.”

The new HPS 105 also boasts a 500 lb tip load (wet or dry), 94’-6” horizontal reach, crisscross, under-slung jacks with only a 13’-8” spread, 240” wheelbase, 1000 GPM pinned waterway, hi-traction rung covers, a bolt-on egress, and large sheaves with large extension and retraction cables.
