CLASSES & STAFF

E-ONE strives to provide your department and employees with product knowledge and the technical skills to safely and effectively operate E-ONE fire apparatus. We offer a selection of training courses including familiarization with specific products, operations and maintenance, as well as courses that help in preparation for EVT exams. Search our classes by subject and by month, register online and travel to our state-of-the-art facilities in Ocala, Florida for your session. You will be personally greeted and given a full tour of our manufacturing processes. Please note that there is a $100 fee for cancelling registration within 30 days of the class date.

Technical Course Descriptions

Aerial 1 – Familiarization

Entry level course developed to educate the technician/salesperson on the different types of E-ONE aerials devices, how they differ, and how they are used. Learn what makes each model unique.

 

Aerial 2 – Operations and Maintenance

Work with a factory trainer and learn how to keep your aerial device in top working condition. Review preventative maintenance and cover hydraulic, mechanical and electrical basics.

ARFF Maintenance

This course is designed to teach our customers how to sustain vehicles manufactured after 1997 with electronic engines and Cushman power dividers and independent suspensions. It covers an overview of newer multiplex systems, Twin Disk, electrical systems, water/foam, as well as drive train, transfer case and steering.

Bronto – Maintenance and Operation

This course will cover operation, basic maintenance and troubleshooting of Bronto fire apparatus, which includes hydraulics, electrical and interlocks. A Bronto factory instructor will instruct the class.

EVT – A1
ARFF Design & Performance Standards and Preventative Maintenance
This course is designed to help prepare the technician in taking the EVT A1 certification exam. Included will be review of the general design and performance standards for ARFF vehicles as described in FAA Advisory circular 10C. Also covered is general principles of preventative maintenance and servicing.

EVT – A2
Chassis and Vehicle components of Aircraft Rescue and Fire-fighting vehicles
This course is designed to help prepare the technician in taking the EVT A2 certification exam. Students will review the operation and testing of the chassis and vehicle components, as well as inspections, maintenance and repair of these components.

EVT – A3
Extinguishment systems of aircraft rescue and fire-fighting vehicles
This course is designed to help prepare the technician in taking the EVT A3 certification exam. Students will review basic design requirements and components of ARFF extinguishment systems.

EVT – F2
Test, design, performance standards and Preventative Maintenance of Fire Apparatus
This course is designed to help prepare the technician in taking the EVT F2 certification exam. This course covers the standards for fire apparatus per NFPA 1901, standard for automotive fire apparatus, and in NFPA 1911, standard for the inspection, maintenance, testing and retirement of in-service automotive fire apparatus.

EVT – F3
Fire Pumps and Accessories
This course is designed to help prepare the technician in taking the EVT F3 certification exam. This course covers the general design, performance, and testing standards for pumper apparatus per NFPA 1901 and 1911. National certification test are offered after completion of each session.

EVT – F4
Electrical
This course is designed to help prepare the technician in taking the EVT F4 certification exam. The technician will get an overview of the basic principles of electricity, operation, use of diagnostic equipment, batteries, charging systems, and starting systems, for the fire apparatus and general maintenance and servicing.

EVT – F6
Allison Transmission
This course will cover the theory of operation, prevention maintenance and troubleshooting procedures on Allison AT, MT, MD, HD transmissions including models with output retarders. It will include using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electronically controlled transmissions and the functions of the external hydraulic circuits used on hydraulic controlled transmissions used in pumper applications.

EVT – F8
Hydraulics
This course is designed to help prepare the technician in taking the EVT F8 certification exam. Students are required to have study material for the class. This material will be reviewed in depth.

EVT – FA4
Advanced Electrical Systems
This course is designed to help prepare the technician in taking the EVT F4A certification exam. The study material will be he technician will get an overview of the basic principles of electricity, operation, use of diagnostic equipment, batteries, charging systems, and starting systems, for the fire apparatus and general maintenance and servicing.

EVT – F1
Maintenance, Inspection and Testing of Fire Apparatus
This course is designed to help prepare the technician in taking the EVT F1 certification exam. This course covers the maintenance, inspection and testing of fire apparatus as described in NFPA 1911, standard for the inspection, maintenance, testing and retirement of in-service fire apparatus.

EVT – F5
Aerial Maintenance
This course is designed to help prepare the technician in taking the EVT F5 certification exam. Course objectives are to define the terms and phrases commonly used with aerial fire apparatus, operations and/or testing; identify the design requirements for aerial fire apparatus stated in NFPA 1901; understand the testing inspection, and documentation requirements of all aerial fire apparatus (NFPA 1914); understand and identify hydraulic systems, electrical systems, describe activities considered to be accepted practice in-service and repair of aerial apparatus.

EVT – F7
Foam Apparatus Foam Systems
This course is designed to review the principles of foam, foam systems and operations, and mechanical components that make up a foam system. Includes general maintenance and testing procedures to prepare you for the EVT exam.

Multiplex Systems – Class One (ESKEY) and Weldon (VMUX)

This course will provide an overview of multiplex theory and operation. Thorough instruction on the purpose and location of components will be covered which includes logic circuits, multiplex components, module locations, vehicle interface, logic circuits and troubleshooting using the display.
